In an Elephant’s Toolbox

Reaching out to put this trunk to good use!

Reaching out to put this trunk to good use!

The elephant’s trunk is the animal’s most versatile and important appendage, enabling it to feed itself, drink, bathe, and even blow the muddy equivalent of sunscreen on its skin. Its tusks are used to dig, to balance items, for defense, and even to mark their territory. Like humans with handedness, elephants tend to be either right- or left-tusked. This dominant tusk is known as the Master Tusk.

Welcome, visitors. I’m just opening this blog here (visit me also at http://elephantsbookshelf.blogspot.com and http://mattsinclair.blogspot.com), but I imagine that this could become an important home for me, as I look to reach out both as a writer and an editor.

Trunk and tusks serve as the most important tools in an elephant’s toolbox. I intend to get to work. Hope you’ll join me. This coming weekend, with my trunk and tusks I’ll pound in some nails and hang a shingle. First stop: the Brooklyn Book Festival.
